How to Care for Your Artificial Grass Lawns

If you’ve made the switch to synthetic grass lawns then you must care about your grass always looking green, healthy, neat and tidy. Synthetic lawn is growing in popularity because of its fuss-free nature. No more sweating it out on a hot summer’s day mowing the lawn, instead you’ll be busy enjoying your attractive lawn with a cold beverage in your hand.

As convenient and fuss-free as synthetic grass lawns are, it’s still important to know how to care for it to keep it looking in tip-top condition for as long as possible and to ensure maximum longevity of your investment. This very minimum maintenance is a small price to pay for the years of pleasure you will get from your lush green lawn.

Use weed killer

Despite the fact that your lawn is artificial it can still get weeds, moss, fungi and mould sprouting up between its blades. Look in your local garden centre or hardware store for special artificial lawn weed killer and spray this onto your lawn annually or as directed on the packaging.

Remove stains or marks

If you notice any nasty stains or blemishes appearing on your beautiful lawn then it’s best to remove them as soon as you notice them. Depending on what it is that has marked your lawn you should be able to remove most stains either using washing up liquid and water or mineral spirits and a cloth.

Remove dirt and debris

Your lawn is outside so you’ve got to expect it to get covered in dirt and debris over time. To stop this from detracting from how pristine and perfect your lawn looks use a leaf blower or a brush to sweep away loose debris from your lawn whenever it’s starting to look clogged up. To prevent from having to do this too regularly keep up with your gardening and trim back any unruly bushes, trees or plants that overhang your lawn. If you allow dirt and debris to build up then your lawn’s drainage system could become blocked and you could end up with a waterlogged or damaged artificial lawn.

Looking after your asynthetic grass lawns is quick and easy, keep up with the maintenance and your artificial lawn will reward you by looking great for years to come.
